The DNA of three suspects arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of two foreign women in Lahore has matched forensic evidence collected during the investigation, according to police and investigation sources.

Police had sent DNA samples of eight suspects to a forensic laboratory for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials said forensic examination of the remaining five samples is still in progress.

According to investigation sources, the DNA of the prime suspect, identified as Nawaz, matched the evidence collected during the probe. Sources further alleged that he was the first to sexually assault one of the women, while two other suspects — identified as Sajid and Sikandar — also had DNA that matched forensic evidence.

The case involves two foreign women, one from Venezuela and the other from the Netherlands, who allegedly suffered kidnapping, torture and sexual assault in Lahore's Defence area.

An FIR was registered against five suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, who has been identified by police as the grandson of a prominent political figure. The five suspects remain on physical remand as investigations continue.

Earlier, Lahore DIG Operations Kamran said the two women arrived in Lahore on June 29 and were allegedly kidnapped shortly afterwards.
