Earthquake jolts Islamabad, parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces

Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several cities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swabi, Nowshera, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, and Lower Dir.
The earthquake's impact also extended to Hassan Abdal, Chakwal, Mianwali, and Chiniot.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.4 with a depth of 13 km. However, no reports of damage to life or property were received following the tremors.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 60 kilometers northwest of Rawalpindi.

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that tremors were also felt in Lahore, Gujrat, and Faisalabad, where the intensity was recorded at 5.5.
Authorities in Punjab were placed on high alert and conducted surveys to check for any damage to buildings across various cities in the province. However, no complaints were reported.
Nevertheless, officials remained on high alert in case of any aftershocks. Citizens were urged to report any inconvenience or damage by calling the emergency helpline at 1192.
