Pakistan's voter count has surged to over 128 million, marking the first time in a decade that the gender gap is below 10 million. Of the 69.26 million male voters (53.87%), nearly 59.32 million women (46.13%) are registered.
Regionally, the disparity is notable, with Punjab leading at over 5 million, followed by Sindh with 2.24 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 1.6 million, and Balochistan with 660,000.
Punjab boasts a total of 73.20 million registered voters, including 39.12 million (53.44%) males and 39.04 million (46.56%) females.
Sindh follows with 26.99 million voters, comprising 14.61 million (54.13%) males and 12.38 million (45.87%) females.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11.94m (54.47%) are male and 9.98m (45.53%) are female out of 21.83 million voters.
Balochistan has 5.37 million voters, with a bit of a gap compared to Punjab’s count, including a little over 3 million (56.15%) male and 2.36 million (43.85%) female.
Islamabad, with over 1 million voters, has 0.568 (53.48%) males and 0.514 million (47.52%) females.
Over the years, the gender gap has fluctuated, reaching its peak at 11.30 million after the 2016 electoral roll revision. The 2022 data reflects a reduced difference of 1.13 million.
Electoral roll revisions in June adjusted the total voters to 120 million, exposing 4 million deceased registered voters.
