Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto attended the National Prayer Breakfast hosted by US President Donald Trump. Bhutto expressed hope for stronger ties between the United States and Pakistan while underscoring the importance of religion in bringing people together.
During his speech at the closing ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto reflected on his personal faith journey and how his belief in God has been shaped by loss.
"Everybody has their own faith journey, and for me, and for many people, faith has to do with loss. The more you lose, the stronger your faith," he said.

He recalled the tragedies his family endured, mentioning that his grandfather, uncles, and mother faced immense hardships and met tragic ends, plunging the Bhutto family into anguish.
Bhutto mentioned former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his mother, Benazir Bhutto in his speech.
He noted that his mother was shot dead in 2007, just before she was scheduled to speak at the National Prayer Breakfast in 2008.

Highlighting how religion is often misused to create divisions rather than foster harmony, he remarked, "One thing I want to say to you here today, as a man of faith and a politician, is that religion is often used to divide us. But the great thing about faith, about God, about the Almighty, is that it’s not a force that divides us, it is a force that unites us. Never let anyone tell you otherwise."
Bhutto also spoke about Jesus' teachings, sharing how he learned about him from his mother, who taught him the prophet’s story from the Holy Quran.
"Every single Muslim, no matter what you’re told, believes in Jesus," he emphasised.

The National Prayer Breakfast was attended by several prominent personalities from around the world, with President Trump also delivering a speech at the gathering.
