Almost all Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) affiliated winners have submitted their affidavits to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) about joining the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) except two party bigwigs Barrister Gohar and Omar Ayub Khan.
PTI secretary general Omar, who is also the nominee of premiership, and acting chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan have not submitted their declaration as they have plans to contest intra-party polls.
As many as 89 MNAs, 85 lawmakers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 106 members elected for the Punjab Assembly, and nine members of the Sindh Assembly submitted their affidavits to the electoral body.
According to PTI, two MNAs-elect, Chaudhary Ilyas, and Brig (retired) Muhammad Aslam Ghumman were 'abducted' but their affidavits have been submitted to the ECP.
However, the party is gearing up for the round of intra-party elections set to be held within two weeks.
As per the sources, Barrister Gohar is in the race for chairmanship, while Raoof Hassan will contest for the post of party's Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
The elections are slated to be conducted simultaneously across the country.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have forged alliance to form coalition government in the centre,
Reacting to the alliance, PTI information secretary said that the nation would not accept this coalition, as they had "given a clear mandate to the PTI to form its government in Centre, Punjab, and KP".
