In a shocking incident, an estranged wife poisoned her husband's livestock in Faisalabad, resulting in the loss of three buffaloes and a cow, according to the police.
The incident occurred in the village of Mamunkanjan, Faisalabad, where a villager, identified as Zafar Iqbal, lost his four livestock after they ingested the poisoned feed.
Iqbal claimed that his wife, enraged over a dispute regarding money, poisoned his livestock, leading to the tragic demise of his four animals, valued at Rs 1.2 million.
He stated that his wife wanted to financially assist her children from a previous marriage, but they had a disagreement over the money, prompting her to take this extreme step.
Moreover, the woman also left her husband and hid herself in an unknown place.
Local authorities confirmed the incident and are investigating the matter; however, the whereabouts of the woman remain unknown.
Earlier, in September, six buffaloes were killed in Faisalabad, and three dozen more cattle were seriously affected after consuming water contaminated with effluent from a mill in the area of Khurarianwala police station.
A police spokesperson reported that a cattle farmer named Idrees, who resides in Chak No 103-RB, was leading his cattle to graze in the fields when the animals reportedly drank water from a watercourse near Jaranwala Road, which had been contaminated by effluent discharged from a local chemical mill.
