Fire in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills brought under control

A wildfire that erupted near the F-5 sector in the Margalla Hills has been completely brought under control.
According to the district administration of Islamabad, the cooling process is underway.
The blaze was fully contained after firefighting teams, along with local residents, took part in the operation to extinguish it.
Officials said no reports of casualties or major losses have been received so far.
Earlier, emergency responders were dispatched to the affected area as the fire spread through parts of the Margalla Hills near the F-5 sector. As a precautionary measure, all hiking trails in the area were temporarily closed.
The Margalla Hills National Park, which spans over 12,600 hectares, experiences frequent wildfire incidents during the summer season, raising ongoing environmental concerns for the Capital Development Authority and other authorities.
