The first day of Ramazan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is expected to fall on March 11 in Pakistan, according to astronomical scientists.
According to the researchers, this year the 'birth' of the Shaban moon will take place on the night of February 10 (29 Rajab) and will be sighted on the evening of February 11, marking the start of the eighth month of the Islamic calendar.
As per the Ramazan calendar for Gulf countries, this year the holy month will be of 30 days and Muslims will observe 30 fasts.
In the Middle East and Gulf regions, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, fasting hours are expected to fall between 13-15 hours.
However, the beginning of the holy month in Pakistan will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee after sighting the Ramazan moon.
Muslims throughout Pakistan and the rest of the world observe the month of Ramzdan annually. During Ramazan, Muslims adhere to fasting from dawn till sunset, fostering a sense of community and empathy for the less fortunate through shared iftars.
