Wazirabad: Four young Pakistani men tragically died from suffocation while illegally traveling by boat from Mauritania to Spain in search of employment and a better future.

According to reports, one of the victims was from Jinnah Colony, Pir Mitha Qabristan Road in Wazirabad.

He had left home two months ago, without informing his family, to embark on a journey to Europe.

Along with him, three other Pakistani youth were also on board the boat.

The family of Abu Huraira, one of the victims, reported that an agent informed them that the four men were hidden in the cargo hold of the boat, which caused them to suffocate to death.

Abu Huraira had been married two years ago, while the identities of the other three individuals are yet to be confirmed.

Abu Huraira’s family confirmed that they identified their son through photos circulating on Facebook showing the deceased men who had suffocated on the boat.

His funeral prayers in absentia were held at Purani Sarai Park.
