Four terrorists were killed after security forces foiled a suicide attack on a camp in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area, state-run PTV reported on Friday.

According to the report, Khawarij attempted to launch a coordinated suicide assault on the security forces’ camp. One attacker rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the camp’s outer wall.

Following the explosion, three more attackers tried to breach the premises, apparently planning to engage in close combat or detonate additional explosives.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday that security forces eliminated 34 Indian-backed terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between October 13 and 15.

According to the ISPR, the militants belonging to the group Fitna-al-Khawarij, operating under Indian patronage, were neutralised during multiple encounters with security personnel.

In North Waziristan’s Spinwam area, security forces launched an operation based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists, resulting in the killing of 18 militants after an intense exchange of fire.

Another eight terrorists were eliminated during a separate IBO in South Waziristan.

The third operation took place in Bannu district, where eight more terrorists were killed during the security forces’ action.

“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorist found in the area as relentless counterterrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by federal apex committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement read.
