YouTuber Hassan Iqbal Chishti was arrested by Punjab Police on Tuesday in Faisalabad following widespread criticism over his controversial songs opposing women’s education.

After his arrest, all videos were removed from his YouTube channel titled Hassan Iqbal Chishti Official.

Chishti gained notoriety last year for his viral song "Othy Dance Kardi Payi Ae," implying that young girls engage in immoral activities in schools under the pretext of education.

Since then, he has continued to release similar content advocating against sending girls to school and even criticising men who educate their daughters.

His songs have frequently circulated on social media, drawing backlash for their offensive and misogynistic content, with many users urging authorities to take legal action.

According to reports, a local cleric, Fazal Ahmed Chishti, accompanied by a mob, led a protest outside the police station against Hassan Ali’s arrest. He allegedly threatened to file blasphemy charges against the SP Police.

Authorities had received multiple complaints against Hassan Iqbal Chishti for spreading hate and misinformation regarding women’s education.

In July 2024, the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women filed an official complaint against one of his anti-education videos. Following this, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched a formal probe into his online content.
