Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Tuesday nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as his party's candidate for chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The former prime minister made the announcement during an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.
The cricketer-turned-politician ruled out the possibility of making an alliance with PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P to form government in the centre.
"I've already directed my party leaders to contact other parties expect them," he added.
"It seems like more economic instability will come in the country after [rigged] elections," Khan said.
PTI has clinched a landslide victory in KP as the independent candidates have taken the majority in the province.
PTI-backed independent candidates have secured victory on 91 seats, becoming major political party to form government.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) bagged seven, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clinched five seats and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured four seats of the provincial assembly.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) bagged three while Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Nazariyati (PTI-P) also managed to win two seats each.
