Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s elder sister, Rubina Khan, criticised Bushra Bibi for wielding her influence at the expense of her brother’s political career. She asserted that the PTI founder’s sisters are genuinely concerned for his well-being rather than seeking power or influence.

A screenshot of Rubina Khan’s comment regarding Bushra Bibi surfaced on social media amidst the ongoing political developments.

Her remarks came in response to the crackdown on the PTI protest and the controversy surrounding Bushra Bibi’s role in the march, which many have blamed for the protest's failure.

“Bushra Bibi has been playing an active role in PTI since she came out of jail,” Rubina Khan wrote in her comment, further alleging that Imran Khan’s wife wielded influence even while incarcerated through her spokesperson, Mashal Yousafzai.

“This is not propaganda,” Rubina emphasised, accusing Bushra Bibi of being actively involved in decision-making, appointments, public announcements, and leading the march alongside Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.

She clarified that Imran Khan’s sisters have never been involved in PTI’s internal affairs and have 'no aspirations' for political roles. “They only want to protect their brother from harm and those who want to damage his reputation,” she said.

Rubina further stated that the sisters also want to ensure that Imran Khan’s directives are not misinterpreted while he remains in prison.

“Bushra Bibi’s involvement in PTI and politics is not new,” she asserted, accusing the former first lady of attempting to control Punjab through her close friend Farah Gogi and the then-Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Rubina went on to refer to Mashal Yousafzai as the “new Farah Gogi” for Bushra Bibi.

She suggested that if Bushra Bibi wanted the so-called propaganda against her to stop, she should "change her strategy."

“There is no competition with the sisters here,” Rubina said. “They have absolutely no desire to enrich themselves through access to public office. That is a very big difference.”

Rubina concluded her comment with a remark,“One cannot build naya Pakistan with the scum of the old Pakistan.”
