Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sons, Qasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, appeared in an interview for the first time to speak about their father's imprisonment in Adiala Jail.

Qasim was asked about the conditions of the prison cell where their father has been kept for nearly two years. He shared that Imran Khan has no access to the outside world or even medical care, and is subjected to prolonged solitary confinement.

Qasim revealed that despite court orders allowing them to speak with their father once a week, he and his brother are only able to talk to him once every two or three months.

“He is occasionally in the pitch black for prolonged periods,” he said, adding that his father was kept in complete darkness for 10 days.

When asked how Imran Khan coped with the situation, Qasim said, “The first two days were beyond difficult, but he was able to get into a zen-like mentality.” He further described the prison conditions as "bleak."

“Our father never wanted us to be in politics”

In the same interview, the PTI founder’s elder son, Qasim Khan, shared insights about their life and his father’s expectations.

“Our father never wanted us to be in politics and we’re not interested in it anyway,” he said, adding that living privately in England and away from the public eye was the right choice for them.

Qasim recalled that when Imran Khan was arrested, he was about to give a speech for his startup. “My business partner showed me the news of my father’s arrest,” he said.

“We are quite thick-skinned with this kind of stuff,” Qasim added, explaining that they had seen their father being shot and arrested multiple times, as Imran Khan had warned them he was “going against mafias.”

He concluded by expressing uncertainty about how long their father would remain imprisoned, stating that he has already spent two years in solitary confinement, which he described as “brutal.”
