A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Bhanuda village in Rajasthan’s Churu district on Wednesday, resulting in the death of the pilot.

According to Indian media reports, the aircraft had taken off from the Suratgarh Air Force base before it went down in an agricultural field around 1:25 pm. Rajasthan hosts several key IAF bases, including those in Jodhpur and Bikaner.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Rajaldesar police station, Kamlesh Kumar, informed local media that body parts were recovered from the crash site, confirming the pilot’s death.

The wreckage was scattered across the field, drawing local residents to the area as visuals of the incident began circulating online.

Emergency teams and military personnel arrived promptly at the crash site, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.

This marks the latest in a series of such incidents. In March 2025, an IAF fighter jet crashed during a training exercise in Haryana’s Panchkula district.
