The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to stage a major rally in Islamabad today, with extensive preparations underway.

The city's entry and exit points have been sealed, and containers have been positioned at various locations in anticipation of the event.

PTI plans to showcase its political strength through the rally, which will be held near the Sangjani area. Party leaders have already visited the site, confirming that preparations are complete.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar emphasized that the rally will be peaceful and will not involve any long march or sit-in. He also confirmed that the event has begun, with participation from the party's allies.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, raised concerns over the issuance of a new No Objection Certificate (NOC) that could obstruct the rally. He urged party members to reach the venue by any means necessary.

Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi vowed that the rally would proceed despite any hurdles. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed provincial assembly members to bring 1,000 supporters each. The district administration has also issued a route plan for attendees.

In response, Islamabad’s district administration has placed the entire district on high security alert. Containers have been deployed at key points to ensure peace and security.

All entry and exit points to Islamabad's Red Zone have been sealed off with containers, and only authorized individuals are permitted to enter via Margalla Road.

In the Sangjani area, containers have blocked both directions of the GT Road, while the motorway’s entry point to Islamabad at the 26th toll plaza has also been closed.

Containers have been stationed at Khanh Pul on the expressway, leading to severe traffic congestion on the Islamabad-Rawat route. The expressway between Rawat and Islamabad has been completely shut down.

Murree Road has been blocked at Faizabad using containers, and the route from Rawat T-Chowk to Rawalpindi is also obstructed. The Faizabad interchange is entirely sealed.

Containers have also been placed at the Attock Khurd police check post, located on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Punjab border.
