The police claimed to have recovered two Indian passports from an elderly man found unconscious in a parking plaza, located in the Karachi district south, and admitted to Jinnah Hospital.
The elderly man was rushed to the hospital in a semi-conscious state after being found at approximately 6:00 pm on Tuesday (yesterday).
The man, whose identity remains unconfirmed, was brought to the hospital by a rescue ambulance and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
In a surprising development, hospital staff discovered two Indian passports and an identity card in the man's possession.
Both passports, issued from Jeddah, belong to a woman and have a note of residential address in Hyderabad Daccan, Andhra Pradesh. The passports are valid until 2028.
Upon the documents' recovery, local police were alerted, and a team was dispatched to the hospital to investigate.
Authorities have confirmed that they intend to question the man once he regains full consciousness to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his presence in Karachi and the possession of the foreign documents.
Officials have not yet disclosed any further details regarding the identity of the passport holder, as investigations are underway.
Notably, the high-level authorities in Pakistan ordered the Indian passport holders not to stay in Pakistan after April 30 as tensions heightened between the two countries after New Delhi accused that the attack was orchstrated across border.
