Karachi heatwave: When will temperature drop in port city?

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the current intense heat in the city is expected to persist until Wednesday, with temperatures beginning to decline from Thursday.

According to Meteorological Department spokesman Anjum Nazir Zaigham, the heatwave is a result of high atmospheric pressure over Indian Rajasthan and surrounding areas.

This pressure has led to the suspension of sea breezes, allowing northwesterly and northeasterly winds to dominate.

Zaigham noted that the pressure over Rajasthan is gradually weakening. Meanwhile, a high-pressure system is forming over the Arabian Sea, though it remains at a considerable distance from Karachi.

He further stated that due to stronger-than-usual winds, temperatures in the city are expected to drop to around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
