The residents of the port city on Saturday were left sweltering in scorching heat as the feels-like temperature touched 50°C in Karachi.
Weather analyst Jawad Memon said feels-like temperature increased in the metropolis due to exceptional humidity in the air.
Karachi has been experiencing hot weather conditions for a month, which weather experts described as post-monsoon effects.
A screenshot of the weather updates shared by Jawad Memon showed that the daytime temperature in the megapolis reached 35.5°C, while excessive humidity in the air soared the feels-like temperature to 49-50°C.
The winds were blowing at a speed of 4.3 kilometres per hour with a 66 percent humidity level.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that the real temperature in Karachi is expected to go up to 40°C.
However, hot weather would prevail until Sunday, during the period mercury is anticipated to touch 41°C.
Earlier, a weatherman stated that Karachi usually witnesses October as the third hottest month of the year with dry weather conditions, as it is a post-monsoon season.
“But this year we are experiencing a hot and humid October, and swelling feels-like temperature due to the increasing temperature at the surface of Arabian Sea,” he added while describing the aftermaths of climate change, severely impacting Pakistan.
