The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cooler nights in the port city, with temperatures expected to drop between 13°C and 15°C starting tonight as Karachiites eagerly await the arrival of winter.
The Met Office has predicted a slight chill for the metropolis, with temperatures expected to drop by 1 to 3°C, signaling the onset of winter in the city.
According to the forecast, daytime weather will remain normal and dry, while nights will be cold.
On the other hand, weather analyst Jawad Memon predicted that the latest winter system has entered Pakistan. Karachi would also experience its potential effects from December 8th, when the city would turn cooler, and the temperature is expected to drop to single digits in some outlying areas.
“Under the influence of La Nina, intense cold systems from Balochistan and northern Pakistan would enter the country, and the first cold wave is anticipated to stay in the country for a week,” he added.
Karachi’s deteriorating air quality also poses health risks to residents, further adding to concerns about public safety in the city of Quaid.
Health experts advise the public to exercise caution, emphasising the use of masks and other protective measures to mitigate the harmful effects of pollution.
