Karachi to receive heavy rain with thunderstorm today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in a weather forecast that heavy rain coupled with thunderstorm is expected to hit Karachi today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) with occasional gaps.

Accoring to the Met office, the minimum temperature in the metropolis was recorded at 17.5°C. Maximum temperatures may fluctuate between 19°C to 21°C. 

The humidity in the atmosphere stands at 69%, as per the PMD. Winds in the metropolis are blowing at the speed of 6 kilometres per hour from the northeast.

However, the weather will remain partly cloudy with chances of heavy rain and thunderstorm, the Met office said in its advisory.

A day earlier, light rain soaked parts of Karachi, inclduing North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Lyari, Baldia Town, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaquatabad, Saddar, Bahadurabad, Tariq Road, Korangi, Landhi, DHA, Qayyumabad, Mehmoodabad, Ranchorr Line and FB Area.

Rain is also expected in Sindh, including Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, and other parts on February 3-4.
