KARACHI: The University of Karachi has annulled the LLB degree of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court, citing misconduct and use of unfair means.
According to an official notification issued by the university administration, Justice Jahangiri’s LLB result and degree have been cancelled, and a three-year ban has been imposed on him, barring him from enrolling in any educational institution or appearing in examinations during this period.
The notification also stated that Justice Jahangiri was never a regular student of Islamia Law College, Karachi, despite academic records reflecting otherwise.
The decision follows an internal inquiry into allegations of academic malpractice during his studies, which led to the imposition of the sanctions.

The petitioner had challenged the decision of the unfair means committee of the KU on August 17, 2024, whereby the degree of Justice Jehangiri was cancelled.
