The History Museum of Lahore College for Women University has been named after Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in recognition of her achievements in politics.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr Shagufta Naz, said that Maryam Nawaz is a distinguished old student of the university.

"She achieved significant success in politics and became the Chief Minister," Dr Naz added.

The educationist explained that the decision to name the museum after Punjab's first woman CM was made to recognise her accomplishments.

"Recognising her achievements in politics, the History Museum has been attributed to her," she mentioned.

The Vice Chancellor also extended an official invitation to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif's daughter to visit her "alma mater".

"Her personality is worthy of emulation for female students," Dr Naz concluded.
