A Lahore court has extended the physical remand of four suspects, including Raza Dar, for another five days in the case involving the alleged abduction and rape of two foreign women.
Lahore Police presented the arrested suspects — Raza Dar, Sikandar Khan, Hassan Raza, and Sajid Ali — before Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood after the completion of their previous physical remand.
During the hearing, the government prosecutor requested a further nine-day physical remand, stating that police needed to recover a laptop, weapons, and a vehicle linked to the case.
A lawyer, Salman Shahid, appeared on behalf of two suspects, Sikandar and Sajid. He argued that Sajid was a security guard belonging to a poor family, while Sikandar runs his own business.
He claimed that both suspects were not initially named in the case and were arrested later based on supplementary statements.
The defence counsel alleged that poor individuals were being implicated to protect influential suspects.
He further claimed that the main accused, referred to as the “boss,” had not yet been produced before any court.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted a further five-day physical remand of the suspects to police.
