The Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed a petition against the Aurat March, ruling it as inadmissible. Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC delivered the decision on a petition filed by citizen Azam Butt.

The petition named Deputy Commissioner Lahore and others as respondents, contending that the placards and banners of the Aurat March were deemed unacceptable to Islamic society.

Concerns were raised about the potential disruption of peace, similar to past instances, should another women's march occur.

The petitioner argued that if fundamental rights are denied, recourse to the court is available. The petition sought an order to cease the alleged immoral publicity of the Aurat March.

Following preliminary arguments on March 1, the Lahore High Court reserved its decision. Today, the court pronounced its ruling, deeming the petition inadmissible.

It's worth noting that the Aurat March is observed annually on Women's Day, March 8, with women across the country taking to the streets, holding placards and banners advocating for their rights as integral members of society.
