Lahore police say viral woman in uniform is former constable

Lahore police have issued an explanation after TikTok videos of a woman wearing Punjab police's uniform went viral on social media.

The videos, which circulated widely on social media, show a woman dancing to songs from the Indian film Dhurandhar, including “FA9LA” and “Karvaan,” while dressed in what appears to be a police uniform.

As the clips gained attention, many social media users began tagging Punjab Police and demanding an explanation.

Reacting to a post on X, the Lahore police said that the woman seen in the viral videos has been identified as Arbab, who is a former lady constable of Lahore police. They said that she was dismissed from service on September 18, 2024, and was no longer associated with the Punjab police. She is currently residing in Korea.

"The use of a Punjab police uniform is a clear violation of laws and regulations, and necessary legal action is being taken in accordance with the law," the police said, requesting the police not to associate her conduct with the Punjab police.
