Woman killed, husband and son injured after speeding car hits motorcycle in Karachi DHA

A woman was killed while her husband and 10-year-old son were seriously injured after a speeding car hit their motorcycle in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, the accident occurred in the Khayaban-e-Zulfiqar area in DHA Phase 8, within the jurisdiction of the Sahil police station.

Police and rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information about the accident and shifted the victim and injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Mairaj Bibi. Her husband, 40-year-old Umair, and their 10-year-old son, Muhammad Aun Umair, were injured in the crash.

The police arrested the car driver allegedly responsible for the accident and seized the vehicle. The suspect identified himself as Zain, while further investigation is under way.

The police said a case is being registered over the incident.
