As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, authorities have begun preparations to facilitate sacrificial animal traders in Karachi. Cattle markets are being set up across the city, with the largest one scheduled to be opened today (April 19) at Karachi's Northern Bypass, aiming to provide people with ample choices of sacrificial animals for observing Sunnat-e-Ibrahim.

The farm will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, on Saturday (today). Initially, at least 200 livestock were transported to the farm from various parts of Pakistan.

The cattle farm at Northern bypass is spread over 1,200 acres of land, including the largest parking area, where customers will be charged half the amount of the parking fees.

Shahab Ali, administrator of the cattle market, stated that they were offering at least a 50% discount on parking fees for all small and heavy vehicles.

Alongside this, the administration has also reduced the price of animal medicines by 50%. In addition, more than 20 pickets will be placed on the market routes for security.

Notably, Pakistan is expected to observe Eid-ul-Adha on Saturday, June 7, 2025, according to initial astronomical assessments.

The final date will be confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the official moon sighting.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), however, Eid-ul-Adha is likely to fall a day earlier, on Friday, June 6.

This prediction came from the Emirates Astronomy Society, which anticipated the Zil Hajj moon will be visible on the evening of May 27, indicating that Zil Hajj will begin on May 28.
