Last Supermoon of 2024 will be visible tonight

Pakistan is set to witness its final supermoon of the year tonight. This stunning celestial display will be visible from midnight to 2:28 am.
Dr Javed Iqbal, an astronomer, explained that a supermoon occurs when the moon reaches its closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it appear significantly larger and brighter than usual.
According to Dr Iqbal, the moon will appear 14% larger and 30% brighter than its typical appearance. It will come within 360,378 kilometers of Earth, compared to the average distance of 384,400 kilometers.
This phenomenon will be visible across the country, including Karachi, Quetta, and Lahore.
It will be the fourth and final supermoon of the year The last one was seen on October 17.
October's hunter moon was the first full moon after the autumnal equinox, which occurred on September 22 this year. The lunar event marks the changing of the seasons.
According to astronomers November’s full moon is traditionally known as the Beaver's Moon.
The name originated from indigenous people, who benefited from the bright appearance of the moon as hunters prepared for long winters.
