Maryam Riaz Wattoo denies claims against Bushra Bibi, affirms loyalty to Imran Khan

Bushra Bibi’s sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo, has stated that Bushra cannot even consider betraying her husband, Imran Khan.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Maryam Riaz Wattoo said that family members have been allowed to meet Bushra Bibi for the past eight weeks, but even lawyers have not been granted access.

“We have no news about Bushra Bibi,” she added.

She further said that some individuals are trying to create the false impression that she is attempting to help her sister leave custody by betraying Imran Khan.

“A vile plot is being hatched against us. How can people lie so brazenly?” she asked.

Watoo also mentioned that Bushra Bibi herself decided to move from Bani Gala to jail. “First, she presented herself with courage, and then she voluntarily went to jail a second time,” she said.

She added that if Bushra Bibi had intended to betray Imran Khan, she could have done so long before her first arrest, when she had the opportunity.

Maryam Riaz Wattoo recalled that she had previously requested Bushra Bibi to come and stay with them, as their mother is there and she was alone after Imran Khan’s arrest.

However, Bushra Bibi declined, saying that if she left to meet their mother, people would claim she had abandoned Imran Khan. “I can never leave Imran alone,” Mariam said.

She concluded by affirming that Bushra Bibi cannot even think of betraying her husband and, God willing, they will always remain together.
