The newly introduced biker lane in Lahore has become a safety risk after the first spell of rain washed away its paint, raising concerns over the quality of materials used in the project.
The lane, intended to provide a dedicated and safer space for motorcyclists, has instead turned slippery and unusable.
Following the rainfall, water accumulated at multiple points on the lane, making it difficult for bikers to navigate.
The green and orange paint, meant to differentiate the track, began peeling off almost immediately upon contact with water.
Reports suggest that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) allocated over Rs. 110 million for the paint, yet it failed to endure even mild weather conditions.
With the paint eroded, bikers have been forced to return to the main roads, increasing the likelihood of traffic congestion and accidents.
The situation has sparked criticism regarding the planning and execution of the project, with demands for accountability growing.
Residents and commuters are calling for an investigation into the project’s mismanagement and financial discrepancies.
Authorities are now under pressure to address the issue and ensure that future infrastructure developments meet safety and durability standards.
