Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Mufti Kifayatullah, has described reports of Imran Khan’s deteriorating eyesight in prison as “divine retribution”.

In a post on X, he stated that during Imran Khan’s tenure in government, a case under Article 6 had been registered against him, leading to his arrest.

He claimed that his own eyesight was affected while he was in prison and that he was denied proper medical treatment at the time, calling it an example of “worldly retribution”.

However, in the same statement, he clarified that he does not support the political imprisonment of Imran Khan or the denial of medical care.

He stressed that regardless of political differences, Imran Khan is entitled to justice and access to medical treatment.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf be provided with complete medical facilities while in jail.

Speaking on humanitarian grounds, he said the PTI founder should be allowed to undergo a medical examination by his personal doctor.

He warned that turning political differences into personal enmity harms society as a whole, stressing that politics should not be an end in itself but a means to ensure human welfare.

Commenting on law and order, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the attack on Pinyala Police Station had shaken society and expressed serious concern over the worsening security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
