Ex-senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who led the Pakistani delegation on the Global Sumud Flotilla, was released on Monday from an Israeli prison after being detained along with other international activists as they set sail to Gaza in September.
“The Zionist government has released former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, the head of the Pakistani delegation, via the Jordanian border,” advocacy group Pakistan-Palestine Forum stated on X.
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released along with delegations from Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
Mushtaq Ahmed said that he and other activists were kept in a notorious Israeli prison in the Negev desert, where the occupation forces subjected them to degrading and humiliating treatment.
“We were handcuffed, our feet were chained, we were blindfolded. They unleashed dogs on us, pointed guns at us, and subjected us to severe torture,” Mushtaq Ahmed revealed after Israel deported him to Jordan.
Despite the ordeal he went through, Mushtaq Ahmed expressed defiance and vowed that the resistance against Israeli occupation would continue, adding that he would sail again to break the siege of Gaza.
