The Sindh High Court has directed an anti-terrorism court (ATC) to complete the trial of the Mustafa Amir murder case expeditiously and in accordance with the law.

The high court was hearing a petition filed by the victim's mother alleging that the accused were using delaying tactics to prolong the trial.

The trial court submitted a progress report to the high court, attributing the delay to accused Armaghan and his lawyer Khurram Abbas.

The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the accused were using different excuses to delay the proceedings and requested an order for the early completion of the trial.

The Sindh High Court termed the reasons for the delay unsatisfactory and directed the ATC to proceed with the trial and complete it as soon as possible in accordance with the law.

The court also issued notices to accused Armaghan and Shiraz and sought their responses by September 22.
