In a bid to solve the problem of transportation for female students and teachers, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has launched a pink bus service in Islamabad.

According to details, around 20 buses of federal educational institutions will be operational on different routes in the federal capital.

The ministry has given the title of "Na Dar, Na Rukawat” (No Fear, No Obstacle) to the women-only project, set to start on August 7.

The service aims to provide women and female students with a safe and convenient travel option.

The female students and teachers of public and private educational institutions will be able to travel for free in the buses operated in the urban and rural areas of the federal capital.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the federal government and the Ministry of Education will "cover all expenses for the project".

Deputy Secretary, Zulfiqar Ali Sameen, said that the purpose of launching the free pink bus service is to utilise unused buses.
