Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s days are numbered and that it is now up to the Indian public to decide his fate.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Khawaja Asif remarked that Modi is currently facing a flood of criticism both inside and outside the Indian Parliament.

He stated, “Modi tried to contain the situation during his address, but things are so scattered now that he will not be able to bring them under control. His time is up — the people of India will now decide.”

Highlighting Pakistan’s stance on future dialogue with India, the Defence Minister said there are three key agenda points: Kashmir, terrorism, and water issues. “Terrorism is part of the agenda,” he emphasized, “and the world must now judge for itself. Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism for 25 years, yet the blame continues to be placed on us.”

He went on to claim that terror outfits like the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) are operating as Indian proxies.

Khawaja Asif added, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself offered to investigate the recent terrorism incident. The world should acknowledge Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism — no country has paid a higher price than we have.”

He said the second item on the negotiation agenda is the Kashmir dispute, which must be addressed, and the third is the issue of water. “There has been an attempt to politicize water issues, but the Indus Waters Treaty is inviolable and cannot be tampered with.”

He further asserted, “When dialogue begins, each matter must be reviewed in line with the clauses of existing agreements. India has become an international sponsor of terrorism. For years, it has orchestrated terror activities against us. We have been fighting a multi-front war against India for 25 years, on both eastern and western borders.”
