The National Assembly (NA) approved on Sunday a motion to restore the membership of PTI Iqbal Khan Afridi after his suspension was withdrawn.
The move came during the House session when PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan sought permission to present the motion, which was later approved by the House.
Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said he had no objection to reinstating Iqbal Khan’s membership, saying his duty was to safeguard the dignity of the House and protect the rights of lawmakers.
However, the speaker advised Iqbal Afridi to avoid bringing guests into Parliament without proper passes and to ensure that no inappropriate behaviour takes place with staff or fellow members.
Ayaz Sadiq also reminded lawmakers that while they have the right to raise quorum points, they should not disrupt proceedings or prevent others from speaking.
He further urged members to avoid bringing unauthorised guests into parliamentary lobbies, saying those areas are reserved for elected representatives only.
The speaker warned that any violation of parliamentary rules would lead to action, stressing that all members must follow the House’s regulations.
