A newborn girl, who was declared dead by Aga Khan Hospital in Hyderabad, was found alive as her family prepared for her burial.
Doctors at Aga Khan Hospital had pronounced the girl dead and issued a death certificate. However, as her family was taking her for burial, her father noticed slight movements.
The father immediately rushed her back to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that she was, in fact, alive and in stable condition.
In a similar incident in August, a man declared dead after being shot in the head in Karachi was also later found to be alive.
Police were alerted to what was initially thought to be a fatality near Jam Sadiq Bridge after a shooting incident in Korangi Industrial Area. Upon arrival, rescue volunteers had mistakenly declared the injured man deceased.
According to police reports, the victim, identified as Irfan, was shot by Shehzad, his wife’s ex-husband, who allegedly intended to kill him.
