The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said on Friday that more parts and wreckage from the crashed K2 aircraft had been recovered and would be handed over to the investigation team for examination.
In a statement, the PAA said search and rescue operation by the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) in the deep sea is still continuing.
“The search for the crew members is continuing with full vigour through the coordinated use of aerial and maritime assets,” the authority said.
The Pakistan-registered Boeing 737 cargo aircraft, operated by K2 Airways, went missing over the Arabian Sea near Ormara in Balochistan on Tuesday night while flying from Sharjah to Karachi.
According to aviation authorities, the aircraft reported a navigational system issue at 9:18pm Pakistan Standard Time before losing contact with air traffic control. Five crew members were on board.
The 27-year-old aircraft had been carrying out a cargo flight when it disappeared, triggering a search operation involving naval and maritime security teams.
On Wednesday, the PAA confirmed that wreckage of the aircraft had been found around 53 nautical miles south of Ormara.
