Soldiers from the Pakistan Army have commenced their arrival in major cities throughout Punjab to ensure security during general elections scheduled for February 8.

As reported by the Punjab Home Department, troops have been stationed in Lahore, Kasur, and Sheikhupura, with additional reinforcements slated to reach districts like Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Sargodha by tomorrow.

The armed troops have been dispatched from garrisons in Lahore, Multan, Okara, Bahawalpur, and Gujranwala.

Emphasizing their top priority of maintaining law and order during the elections, the Punjab Home Department assures that all districts are closely collaborating with the army to facilitate a seamless and secure electoral process.

The department is actively overseeing election arrangements across the province, including the installation of CCTV cameras at sensitive polling stations to bolster security and transparency.

The military forces are being deployed in support of the civil government, aiming to ensure transparency, peace, and order in the election process. Military personnel will be positioned outside polling stations as part of the third security tier.

The police will provide the first-tier security, with civil armed forces comprising the second tier during Thursday's polling.
