Pakistan has taken control of 19 Afghan border posts in response to unprovoked aggression from Afghan forces, security sources confirmed on Sunday.
According to reports, Pakistani troops launched a powerful and effective counter-offensive late last night after Afghan forces opened unprovoked fire across multiple border points.
Security officials said that the captured Afghan posts had been used to launch attacks into Pakistani territory.
Following Pakistan’s retaliatory action, widespread destruction and fire were visible at several Afghan positions, while most Taliban fighters abandoned their posts and fled.
Sources described this as a significant operational success for the Pakistan Army against Afghan forces involved in the cross-border hostilities.
Earlier, Afghan troops had initiated unprovoked firing along the Pak-Afghan frontier, to which Pakistani forces responded decisively, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers.
Multiple Afghan posts were destroyed or left deserted as a result.
Security sources further revealed that Afghan firing was carried out from several locations, including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha, prompting a comprehensive and precise response from the Pakistan Army.
