Traveling to Pakistan has become more convenient with the introduction of the "Pak ID" mobile app, designed to streamline the visa-on-arrival process for citizens of 120 countries.

Developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the app allows users to apply for business and tourist visas, track their application status, and obtain visas online.

The app offers a user-friendly experience, featuring advanced capabilities such as face reading, passport scanning, and document reading.

In addition to the visa services, Pakistan's online visa system now caters to citizens of 192 countries, with 120 eligible for visa-on-arrival.

In a bid to further modernize government services, NADRA launched the "Pak ID" app in 2024, allowing citizens to apply for Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and Family Registration Certificates (FRCs) online.

The app also eliminates the need for citizens to wait in long queues at NADRA centers, enabling them to complete the application process from the comfort of their homes.

Once the process is completed, applicants can have their ID documents delivered to their doorstep.

The app simplifies the process by allowing photo uploads, fingerprint verification, and online payments.

NADRA officials highlighted that overseas Pakistanis can also apply for CNICs through the app, making it a significant step towards digitizing essential services for the public.
