The Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) rescued all 20 crew members of a cargo dhow after it began sinking east of Ormara, the military's media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the vessel developed severe flooding, prompting an emergency rescue operation after a distress call was received at the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre.
The ISPR said that PNS Hunain and naval aerial assets were immediately dispatched to the area, enabling rescue teams to evacuate all crew members safely. It said all those rescued were Pakistani nationals and were receiving the necessary medical care.
The military's media wing said the operation reflected the Pakistan Navy's and PMSA's preparedness to respond swiftly to maritime emergencies and their commitment to safeguarding lives at sea.
The rescue follows a series of recent maritime operations by the two organisations.
