Pakistan has set a new world record by forming the largest human image of a waving flag, surpassing India's previous record.
Over 10,000 students from Army Public School in Lahore participated in the record-breaking activity during the Lahore Youth Festival at Fortress Stadium this week, state-run media reported on Thursday.
The Guinness World Record for the largest human flag image was previously held by India, where 7,368 students formed the flag in March 2024 in Sonipat.
However, Pakistan's achievement was confirmed as it surpassed that figure with over 10,000 students in Lahore creating the image of the national flag.
The national flag of Pakistan, adopted on August 14, 1947, features a green field with a white descending crescent moon and a five-pointed star at its center, along with a vertical white stripe at the hoist-end.
It is a prominent symbol of the nation, hoisted on important national days and at various public and governmental institutions.
The Lahore Youth Festival, organized by the Punjab provincial government, continues to be a celebration of youth and national pride.
The successful formation of the human flag marks a significant achievement for the country in the world of record-setting.
