A group of six youngsters from Punjab on Wednesday achieved a record by hoisting the huge flag at Burzil Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The team successfully unfurled a massive 200-feet-long national flag at a height of 4,208 metres with the help of Pakistan Army.

The flag was later showcased at the Azadi rally in Ngai, the last village of Pakistan.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was part of the Independence Day celebrations held at Ngai village and the nearby primary school, located close to the Line of Control (LoC).

The event featured a range of activities, including a volleyball match and tug-of-war competition, in which villagers and Pakistan Army personnel participated.

The grand finale saw the largest national flag being hoisted at the picturesque Rainbow Lake, a famous tourist spot.

The record-breaking feat was dedicated to the freedom heroes, martyrs, and ghazis of the Pakistan Army, symbolising the nation's spirit and resilience.

The nation is celebrating Independence Day today (Wednesday) with a renewed pledge to work with the spirit of the Pakistan Movement to make the country a true Islamic welfare state.

The day began with a thirty-one-gun salute at the federal capital and a twenty-one-gun salute at the provincial headquarters.

Buildings and major roads in Pakistan are decorated with colorful lights and green flags, giving the country a festive look.

Islamabad is also adorned with a rainbow of colors to mark the occasion.
