Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday awarded Rs 2.5 million to Mohibullah, an excavator operator who heroically rescued a family stranded in the floods in the Qilla Abdullah area of Balochistan.
During a special meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, the prime minister commended Mohibullah's bravery and selflessness in saving the family while risking his own life.
"The entire nation, including myself, is proud of you. Your love for humanity is deeply admirable. You are a national hero for demonstrating the courage to save human lives," the prime minister said.
He praised Mohibullah for fulfilling his national duty by rescuing the stranded individuals without concern for his own safety.
In addition to the Rs 2.5 million award from the Government of Pakistan, the prime minister also announced that Mohibullah's children would receive a free education up to the university level and that his family would be provided with cost-free healthcare.
"This is an honor for me to meet the prime minister of Pakistan. I never imagined something like this would happen. While rescuing the stranded family, I had no idea that the act would become so widely recognized across the country," Mohibullah said during the meeting.
He expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for acknowledging his efforts and for the honor of being invited to the PM House.
