PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir meet global leaders at Davos

PM Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir held a series of informal meetings with world leaders at 56th WEF annual meeting in Davos, on Thursday.

The meetings included discussions with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and the Palestinian PM. The meetings highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with these countries.

Shahbaz and Field Marshal Munir also attended a special address by President Trump at the forum and also met with other international figures.

During his three-day visit, PM Shahbaz talked about Pakistan’s improving economic growth. At a Pakistan Pavilion event, he said that export-led growth is important for sustainable development, highlighting declines in inflation as signs of macroeconomic stabilization.

Moreover, he also briefed IMF Director Kristalina Georgieva on Pakistan’s fiscal policy, revenue mobilization efforts and institutional reforms.

The visit, according to Shahbaz, aimed to deepen engagement with global trade and investment partners as Pakistan continues its economic reform journey.
