Contractor robbed of Rs2.2m after withdrawing cash from bank in Karachi

Four armed robbers riding two motorcycles looted Rs2.2 million in cash from a contractor near University Road in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, police said on Friday.

The Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHO said that the victim, Fazal Wahab, told the police that he was a contractor and had withdrawn the money from a private bank in the Aziz Bhatti area while travelling with his associate, Khan Munir.

According to the victim, they were travelling from NIPA on University Road towards the Safari Park AG Office in Block 6 when four robbers riding two motorcycles intercepted them at gunpoint and fled after taking Rs2.2 million.

The police have registered a case against four unidentified suspects under Section 397/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched an investigation.
