Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his warm wishes to the Hindus celebrating the Diwali festival.
“Warm wishes to our Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world on the joyous occasion of Diwali,” Premier Shehbaz shared his heartfelt greeting on his X handle.
“May this festival of lights bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all. Let us celebrate unity in diversity and continue to strengthen the bonds that make our nation stronger,” he wrote in a post.
Millions of Hindus across the world are celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights, with religious zeal and fervour.
This is an annual festival celebrated in the fall of October, welcoming Lakhshami—the goddess of Hindus—with multi-colour rangolis, flames of little lamps, known as ‘Diya’, flowers and firecrackers.
This festival is also celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Shree Ram Chandra, who spent almost fourteen years of his life in extradition in forest and preached Hinduism.
