PM Shehbaz Sharif reviewed Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming monsoon season during a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lt. Gen Inam Haider Malik.

The meeting focused on emergency planning, coordination between federal and provincial authorities, and strengthening disaster response measures.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz directed the NDMA chairman to further improve coordination with provincial governments and provincial disaster management authorities to ensure timely action during possible rain-related emergencies.

The PM directed climate change Minister Musadik Malik and the NDMA chairman to visit provinces, AJK, and G-B to assess readiness and identify potential risks.

The PMD has forecast additional monsoon activity, with weather systems expected to bring increased rainfall across several parts of the country. Authorities have warned of possible urban flooding, flash floods, landslides, and infrastructure damage in vulnerable areas.

The government has emphasized that early warnings, coordinated response efforts, and preparedness at all levels are essential to reduce the impact of monsoon-related disasters.
